“We couldn’t be more excited for the opportunity to take this great event to the west coast,” said ASA/USA Softball Executive Director Craig Cress. “Now in its ninth year of existence, the World Cup of Softball has become a prominent event annually in the world of international softball. While the renovations to the ASA Hall of Fame Stadium prevent us from hosting this event in Oklahoma City for a ninth time, our affiliates with Southern California ASA have stepped up to bring the event to Irvine. We have no doubt that they, along with the city of Irvine, will do a tremendous job hosting this wonderful tournament and all of the athletes, coaches and fans who attend.”
